What is Somatic Psychotherapy?

  • Somatic therapy attends to the connection between thoughts, feelings, and physical acts and sensations, and involves strategies that include both somatic awareness and cognition.

  • Somatic work involves the development and support of physical practices to bring more ease and vitality in life.

​

  • Touch psychotherapy involves attentive and therapeutic touch that is integrated with psychological process and is done while client is fully clothed.

Is therapy In-person or Telehealth?

I work both in-person and by telehealth. I use a HIPAA-compliant Zoom platform for telehealth, as well as phone when needed. I enjoy working with people in-person in my Santa Cruz office. Agreements for in-person work include vaccination, mask-wearing, and other risk-reduction practices.

Due to licensing laws, I cannot see people who are outside of California.

Are Your Offices Accessible?

  • Language: I speak only English.

  • ADA: My current office is not ADA accessible. I have permission to schedule the use of  a colleague's ADA accessible office when needed.

  • Transportation: I am several blocks from the downtown Metro station.

  • Bathroom is single stall all gender.
